18 Years

Can you believe that it’s been eighteen years since that faithful morning when the world stopped?  Eighteen years.  There are teenagers alive now who you can have an adult conversation with who weren’t alive when it happened.  There are young adults who were still in diapers when it happened.  It was a terrible event, but it will not be forgotten.  The world might have changed significantly since that faithful morning, but we should always remember the time right after it when we as a country were united together.  We must go back to those times and we will realize that we can make it through anything.

17 Years

The world changed forever 17 years ago.  I remember, I was in highschool, at our welcome to the new school year Mass.  When it was over, the president of the school announced it to us all (it was only around 9am).  We went back to our classrooms and watched it unfold throughout the day.

Some teachers tried to give lessons, some let us watch the TVs and see what was going on.  Most people were quiet and somber.

I remember coming home and listening to the fighter jets flying overhead.  I live just 30 miles north of Manhattan.  F-16s (I remember they only had 1 tail) were flying alot that evening.

I remember watching at home as Building #7 fell.  It didn’t seem like things were ever going to stop.

I’ll never forget it, will you?
