Jurassic Park IV; Jeff Goldblum

Teaser Poster

Did You that there’s a 4th Jurassic Park in the works?  It’s called Jurassic World, it’s scheduled to come out next summer.  It’s even got a cast, and director and everything.

It’s not directed by Steven Spielberg, so it’s got a so-so chance of being a great addition to the Jurassic Park franchise, but I’ll still hold out for it.  BD Wong is reprising his role as Dr. Henry Wu, the scientist present for the births in the 1st film.  Chris Pratt, better known as Andy from Parks and Recreation is staring in the film.  I like him in Parks & Rec, but I don’t how he’ll fit in Jurassic Park.  I’m going to believe that he’ll fit in perfectly.

This video is only slightly related to Jurassic Park:

The Stumble Post of Tomorrow

Oil fire? Nope, that’s just sunset at that refinery, truly a beautiful scene.  {source}

Yes, it’s been quite some time since the last stumbles post, too long you might say, but fear not because there are some gems included in this post.  Including the above photo.  Which I have to say, that is a beautiful site, it’s the Grangemouth Refinery in Scotland, and it’s at sunset.  I don’t know about you, but I’m sure if we could get a thunderstorm in the background, that would be an equally impressive sight.

Anyway, enough with the approval of modern industrial prowess, let’s get onto the good shit, literally…

Lagoa Multiphysics 1.0 – Teaser from Thiago Costa on Vimeo.

I’m no 3-D artist, or game designer, but I can tell you that that has some serious potential.  For the most part it looks entirely realistic, but who knows how much processing power that takes.  And, it looks like this is just a plugin for already existing software.  But I can see people using this as a stepping stone to move into other places.

Alls I know is that I want to see this in the Jurassic Park game.  I’d love to see the dirt move around when the t-rex presses his foot down.

Jurassic Park, the Game

Apparently an episodic Jurassic Park game is in the works.  This is awesome.  Jurassic Park is one of those awesome movies that just lasts forever as its awesomeness.  The only thing unawesome about this is the episodic part.  I find that to mean “we’re too greedy/lazy to make this one full game, so we’ll release X number of them over time and make you pay full price for these almost complete games.”

I am imagining a cross between Velociraptor Safari, and the first Jurassic Park film.  Where instead of you being a raptor, you can play as Robert Muldoon, the park’s game warden and you drive around trying to capture/kill the increasingly intelligent Velicoraptors.  Then you could play as could also play as “Hang onto your butts” Ray Arnold and try to get the phones working again.  But all will be lost when those raptors that Muldoon was in charge of rounding up keep getting loose and killing you.

I also envision an XKCD cameo of some sorts because he has been warning us for years about the dangers of Raptors.

It could be excessively fun and entertaining.  I want this to exist tomorrow.

I’m Back!

Yes, I am back with a vengeance.  Ok, not a vengeance, I just like that word.

Anyway, I did completly underestimate Chris, I wasn’t expecting him to post anything, seeing as he hasn’t in well over 2 years.  He surprised me, it will not happen again.  As for his entry into Stumbles 16, I am debating if that is a true entry or not, time will tell.

As for me, my vacation was awesome, I survived my encounters with the local wildlife, and even saw a raptor skeleton:

Yes indeed, there are raptors among us.

I’m still going through my photos, I took over 1300 of them, so it will take some time.  If you guys want to see them, you should ask nicely and maybe when i get around to finish going through them, I’ll post a link to them.  Maybe, you have to ask nicely though.  And if no one asks, then no one gets it.
