Jake and Amir, watch Jake and Amir

It’s been a long time since Jake and Amir were regularly making videos.  I remember it like it was yesterday honestly, I can’t believe it’s been 3 or 4 years.  Any Hootie and the Blowfish, they recently joined back up on Patreon and are uploading Jake and Amir watch, Jake and Amir, it’s like director commentary on DVDs back in the day.  Just pop it in, press play and enjoy the ride.

Or, pay them some money and watch them watch themselves.  This above video is from Milk Man I and II with Ben Schwartz.  I’ll be honest, I wasn’t a big fan of the Milk Man set, but it’s fun to watch them reminisce about times past.  I almost want to sign up and watch, but they’re only like 20 episodes deep and they have over 800 to total.  Or that’s what I heard.  It seems right.

I remember stumbling to the videos years and years ago.  Remember stumble-upon.  Man those were good times.  I know Tuesdays and Thursdays I was refreshing the homepage waiting for the new video to drop.  Then before I had found the reddit community, I would hope to be one of the first to add a comment to their page.

Many good times watching them.  I still use many of the phrases in my common every day words.  It’s impressive, kind of.  Some people don’t really get it, but I do, and that’s what matters.

Check it out, pay them.

Take Care, Asshole

This isn’t the first time I’ve watched actual YouTube Ads as separate videos.  It’s a testament to the quality of said videos that I’ll sit and watch an entire ad before some other video plays.  (Un)Fortunately that was not the case this time around.

As public service announcements go, this one is pretty damn good.  We all fall for it, we call things by the brand names that made them famous, were the firsts, or had the best marketing strategy.  However it’s wrong, and if you go somewhere else, people might not know what you’re talking about.  Like seriously, I had no idea Rollerblades were a brand, I just thought that’s what they were.  Who Knew?  Apparently those lawyers.  The other’s in that video I knew.

It’s Just Hotdogs

Being sneaked into people’s pockets.  The guy is quite fun to watch.  I love the PG attitude he has throughout.  Too often now people curse in the videos that otherwise don’t really warrant it.

And So It Begins

What, you thought I was going to say World War II?  That’s so typical, not everything is about the Greatest Generation.

Today marks the beginning of the school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  I know I keep my love of Harry Potter somewhat of a secret compared to many of the other loves I have, but rest assured, it is there, and it is a big part of my life.  I didn’t grow up on it, I didn’t even really get interested in it until the second movie came out, but from that point on I was hooked.  Few things will ever be able to compete with that I don’t think, which is sad, but that is life.

If you’ve never read the books, today would be a perfect day to give them a go.  The first two are quick reads, the 3rd one gets dark, and from the 4th onward they are larger, longer, and more dangerous.  I hope you enjoy them, let me know!

Camera Master

This is a great comic that goes over the unfortunate importances people place on things that don’t matter on cameras, or tech in general.  Left Handed Toons in general is one of the more enjoyable web-comics I read.  I actually do read it, as opposed to blindly subscribing to it and checking once a week.

Honestly, it’s the “finest American Wi-Fi” line that got me.  Gold.

This is Jason Bourne

In a bid to raise money for, Matt Damon teamed up with Omaze for a contest to raise money.  How was it introduced to the world?  Via the above prank video of Damon calling random unsuspecting civilians to get them to do spy type stuff.  It’s all harmless fun, a true prank.  I’m not sure if I’d be able to recognize his voice though, my love of Matt Damon not withstanding, if I wasn’t expecting it, I’d probably miss it.

The highly anticipated sequel to the Bourne franchise opens up tomorrow.  It’s a shame I won’t be around to watch it on opening.  But that won’t stop it from being good.  Well, it does, but hopefully it’s just really darn good.  It looks good.

Weird Things about America

I’m not sure how truthful this is, or what’s going on in it, but it’s really a fun video to watch.  I can see what he’s talking about, at least mostly, except the French part, that makes me think this was recorded awhile ago, but it doesn’t look like it.  Also, yes, I watch  Die Hard every Christmas.  Regular as clockwork…or a time lock

Traveling in America II

This is not quite the same as the Colburn Idiots, but it’s still quite funny.  This Irish father went on vacation to Las Vegas and borrowed his son’s GoPro camera and a selfie stick with the intention of documenting the trip and showing everyone what’s going on.  Well, he had the camera pointed on himself the whole time, but he thought it was pointed out.  What follows is 4 minutes of edited together footage of this man talking about the cool, interesting sights, that only he can see.  Fun though, I bet they all got a kick out of it!
