Wooden Tower Domino Fun

Watching things like this is satisfying, that’s all I have to say:

It took 16 hours to construct this behemoth which stands at nearly 20 feet tall using 22,000 planks of wood (ok, not dominoes, but still ace).  I don’t know which is more impressive, putting the whole thing together without a misstep which caused destruction, or the engineering necessary to get everything to fall in order without knocking other things out.  The final seconds of the collapse, when the entire tower implodes, that’s impressive because I was on the edge of my seat waiting and hoping that one of those sticks wouldn’t fall incorrectly and knock something else off balance.

Crazy Tesla Coil Gun

Ok, last time there was a LASER Gun, today it’s a Tesla Coil.  It’s ridiculous.  The Tesla Coil is not quite as dangerous, but also completely terrifyingly dangerous, science is weird like that.  Anyway, this channel is pretty neat, you should watch it to learn more about things.

Strange Juggling Balance Thing

I really don’t see a need for this, but it exists because someone made it.  That someone is Ameron Rosvall, a prop maker and juggler (according to his Instagram), also the owner of a pretty sick beard.  He’s got some pretty neat contraptions on his Instagram, but that one above is the king.  He looks so satisfied getting the balls to remain in their loops just dancing around.  He’s got some pretty good hand-eye-chin coordination too, check out this one:

The smaller ring works too 😃

LEGO Mustang

Have you ever wanted a car?  What about a LEGO car?  How about a Ford Mustang?  Well you’re in luck because a few years ago LEGOLand Florida built a full sized 1964 Ford Mustang, completely out of LEGO Bricks.  194,900 of them to be exact.  Some were DUPLO bricks, but that doesn’t matter in the grand scheme.  They even built in working head and tail lights.  It’s lighter than an actual Ford Mustang, but I bet if you put the engine and transmission in it would approach it.  It’s probably not very good in a crash.  Though a car from 1964 is also probably not one you want to crash in, so it’s a wash there.

Great Videos of The Past

My fiancee was showing me something the other day.  It was a video that she loved in her younger days of the internet.  Before Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, reddit, all of those things.  Back when you had to actually search for quality (or lack of) humor on the internetz.  Many hours were spent stumbling around the internet looking for things, and finding things.  I can’t remember where exactly I first saw the video, and I know I posted about it before but I can’t find it.  Anyway, I had to show her the infamous Benny Lava.

Benny Lava is superior to whatever you might be thinking.  It’s a classic internet video.  It’s not necessarily as wide spread as The Ultimate Showdown, but it’s far more known than Electronik Supersonik which I also had to show her:

Yes nostalgia and the internet go hand in hand.  It’s almost like the internet was made for it.

Anyway, I’ve posted the above videos again because they are amazing and you have to watch them.

The Hummer H1

I love the Hummer.  If I could have any car in the world, that would be it.  Sure it’s got terrible gas mileage.  Sure it’s massive and wouldn’t fit up my driveway.  Sure it’s excessive.  But it’s just so damn cool.  I don’t need toe $200k version.  I’m OK with an army surplus one from eBay.

Trackmania Halo Edition

Reddit user ducain23 posted a track in Halo 5 Forge which reminds me an awful lot of TrackMania.  The dumb reddit video system doesn’t let me embed videos on other places sadly, so you’ll have to go to reddit itself to view the clip, needless to say, it’s pretty cool.  I like the way he’s used the geometry to counteract gravity and keep things from falling apart.  I’m not so sure I would be able to drive on this course without falling off.  I’m totally more of a gunner, and my game stats will back that up (though they haven’t been refreshed in years sadly).

I can envision a really interesting game mode here with drivers, gunners, and passengers.  The passengers are holding a bomb and you gotta drive through moving checkpoints to drop it off.  It might work similar to stockpile from Halo Reach.  It’s a work in progress but I think it could be tons of fun.

PARKS: The Board game

I might be alittle behind on this (the Kickstarter has ended, but was funded to over 2000%), but this looks like a pretty ace game.

There have been a few more additions to the National Parks since this was conceived and produced, but that’s the nature of the world, things are constantly changing.  I’m bummed that I missed out on this Kickstarter, but I think it would be neat to have in general.

Deter Package Theives

I like Mark Rober, some of his videos are cool, some are awkward, most are enjoyable.  This one is really interesting he goes into how he stalked his package thieves, then how he enlisted the help of his friend to design and build a glitter+fart bombing dummy package.

I don’t want to spoil anything, but the best part is the ending.  You can trust me and him when he says that it’s over-engineered and just get to the goods.

He clearly built a few of these, if he were smart next year he will start offering them for sale for people.  Though I do wonder how cost-effective it actually is given the 4 phones he might have lost forever and the LTE data plans he paid for them.  Granted, I’m sure they were burners, but still.

Super cool Toy Car Tracks

It’s Christmas time and little kids all over the world are worrying about what Santa is going to give them more than what the spirit of the season is all about.  Well in order to bring their hopes and dreams down, I’m going to show them a set of insane Hot Wheels tracks that they wish they could build and they wish Santa would bring them.

It’s too late now mommy and daddy, you can’t get this stuff anymore.

I like the first one in the skate park, that was pretty ace.

Here’s a better view of #6, it’s not a track it’s an art installation.  Boring.  I do like the speed scale though, that’s ridiculous.  It goes to show that you would never withstand the G-Forces of it.

Number 4 is ridiculous.  There are wooden loops, it’s reminiscence of Action Park in it’s high qualityness.

Number 2 is pretty awesome, from it’s humble beginnings.  It looks simple but then you see how gar along the house and the yard that it goes.  I do like #1 with the PVC pipes holding the track for parts of it.  Pretty neat.

Anyway Enjoy Children.  And if you’ve managed to build a track of equal or better value, let me know.
