Slow Motion Life

High Speed digital photography is nothing new, and with Mythbusters using their high speed camera at every irrelevant moment, it’s something we’ve all gotten alittle too used to.  That is until you see some every day occurrences done with it, and you realize that all that science they Mythbusters use their high speed camera for is silly.

Locked in a Vegas Hotel Room with a Phantom Flex from Tom Guilmette on Vimeo.

The best parts are clearly the ones with the faucet and water, I mean I’ve seen things like that before, but this is just so well done. Perhaps its the 1080p powers of the ridiculously expensive Phantom Flex video camera used to capture those shots, but something about that video makes is so much more cooler then regular High Speed camera shots.

Google [Good/Evil]

Here’s a neat little video that chronicles all the things that Google does. It’s alittle old, – from March – but it still gets the same information accross, and nothing drastic has changed. If anything there’s probably a few more things to add to the list.

The Beast File: Google (HUNGRY BEAST) from Elmo Keep on Vimeo.

One thing I will say is that Google News is not a Google Hosted news service. It is simply a popular news aggregator. Sure it uses a propitiatory algorithm to rank the news in an unknown way, but anyone whose spent any time on Google News knows that the headlines reflect the same event, but the source links are constantly changing, and you can view all things related to a specific topic.
So you could take it one step further and say that Google is showing us what to read in the news, but I don’t feel that’s whats happening.

Also, I don’t feel that Google is doing anything remotely “evil” because all this stuff is information you freely give them. Whatever, it’s late, I’m tired, and I support Google, so goodnight.

The 2010 Olympic Stumble Event!

Its time again for the best stumbles in the history of the internet.  These fine stumbled pictures are up there for humor, love, wrongness, Nazi, and cute.  Only one can take home the gold, and end the post.  That picture has the responsibility to hold off the other stumbles until i write the next one, whenever that is.  So without further rambling on my part,

The Flashlight Gun

Fit’s in you’re back pocket, so when you’re out for you walk and it gets bad,  BAM! you’re good.

Apparently this gun, the FMG-9 is a prototype from 2008 and nothing’s come of it since.  That’s all fun and games, but really, why do you need it?

21 Stumbles on the wall

We welcome in the new year with the latest iteration of Stumbles.  This is number 21 (give or take), and this is year 2010, so let’s see where it takes us.  Alittle history:

  • 1 year ago today we were at only stumble 8, and now we’re up to 21, impressive!
  • Imagechan makes it’s triumphant return after a year away
  • This has a gif, a 4chan, a 3 memes and some advice

Hopefully there will be some awesome things in store for 201.  I’m already working on 3 or 4 posts that I think  are great.  And let’s not forget the conclusion to the exciting events of World War IIb.  So sit back, relax, and watch the wrongness fly

God: The Action Figure

God action figure

Even God uses an AK-47, more proof that that is indeed the greatest assult rifle ever made by human hands.  Wait, maybe it was forged up in heaven by angles, and given to the Soviets in an effort to overthrow the Americans.  But the Devil called God out on that blatent unfairness, so the Americans won that battle with their crazy “Democracy.”

D-Day, small scale style

Ahh, the magic of CGI, green screens, and copy & paste! Despite all that, this D-Day invasion was done with only 3 people, and it really does look like it was a few hundred, unlike the few thousand that Saving Private Ryan looked like.
