There’s quite alot going on in this video. I have to say, it’s super well done, I bet it took them alot of time to get it all working. Then again, there’s not much else to do during quarantine, so making super ace videos of video games and stuff like this is a great way to pass the time.
This is pretty neat, too bad it never came to fruition. Probably because of Disney, probably because an unknown number of reasons. It’s neat watching the behind scenes of this pilot that never went anywhere. It makes you wonder what other awesome shows exist out there as test footage forgotten away on a hard drive somewhere.
Maybe this time of total quarantine will bring some of these awesome things out for the world to see.
Pawn Stars was a unique idea, take a Pawn Shop in Las Vegas and chronicle all the crazy stuff that comes in. It could have been fun, could have been interesting. But when it’s so obviously set up, it looses the charm. That’s what’s happened to the show (very quickly). Manufactured drama, stupid “storylines” and recruited people & things have made it a blah show to watch.
That’s not the case with this old video of the shop. It’s interesting to see Rick and how much he’s changed and then how much more sane he was. Oh well, it was good back then, now it’s less background noise, and more avoid noise.
The U-2 is a unique plane, it’s 100 foot wingspan and bicycle landing gear make it tough to land on ground. But I just found out that it is capable of carrier landing and take-offs. That is simply crazy!
It’s no secret that I love the National Parks. They are steeped in history be it natural, historical, or modern. I kind of knew some of the history of The Great Smoky Mountains, basically the gist of George Masa being responsible for it. However this short 5 minute video is a great retrospective of all the work he did.
It doesn’t have the production value of a Ken Burns production, but it has the knowledge, and instead of dozens of minutes of overshots, and speculation and opinions it’s a straight video on the guy and his impact.
You should watch it because it explains the most visited National Park in the country. (Which ironically I still have not been to).
A few years ago it rained so hard and so quickly that a river flooded in Brazil and completely covered this hiking trail with many feet of crystal clear water. I know what you’re saying, when rivers flood here, they’re muddy, danger messes. Well this river is in a protected park in Brazil, and the trail is private.
The water didn’t stay up that long, by day’s end it had receded back to somewhat normal levels apparently. Still, I think it’s pretty neat. In fact, I think it’s exceptionally neat that somewhere on earth everything is set up perfectly to flood so calmly.
jdbrew linked to this video explaining an insane (what I’m calling Fan) theory regarding The Matrix.
I don’t want to spoil it for you, but I understand that it’s 15 minutes long which include an unnecessary minute long intro, and (on my watch 2 (two)) pre-roll ads.
Anyway, read the title of the post, then think what Neo is supposed to be, then switch them up. That’s the gist of this theory. Yes it was posted 5 years ago, yes I am just seeing it today. Deal with it.
Survivor is 20 years old! In 40 seasons of reality television that’s the equivalent of being elected President.
I remember watching Survivor back in the day when it was on Thursday Nights, I watched up until All Stars, then I graduated High School and fell out of the weekly TV rotation. Apparently I missed some of the more iconic moments in the show’s history. When I came back into it a few years ago there were these things called Hidden Immunity Idols. WTF?
For it’s iconic season, Survivor is bringing back 20 previous winners and pitting them against each other to try and win a $2 million prize. Like me, there will be a few players who never played with a hidden immunity idol before, but I’m sure they will know about it.
