Crazy Underground Waterslide

Not quite underground, but close enough. I’m not sure how this came up, but while scrolling through videos in bed last night looking for cool and interesting things to watch while falling asleep this video showed up.

Now, my searches have been Geodesic Dome, terrariums, gardening, wood working, and home building focused. I’m not 100% sure where this came from, but it was interesting. And my wife and I spent the 20 minutes watching it and being amazed at the way these two (though, I guess 3) individuals turned the jungle into something else.

How, we’re not quite sure. Why, even less sure. But 35 seconds into the video we were equal parts confused and impressed, and at that point, dedicated to the cause. It’s interesting, and cool, you should dedicate yourself to the 20 minutes watching these guys build an underground palace, because they can.

Imagine building something like this in America. Well, I’m sure that you could somewhere, or something close enough to it anyway. One day that will be me. And trust me, when that happens, this blog will be no more. Because why would I be blogging when I could be enjoying my underground natural waterslide house?

Halo 64

Last month we saw the first trailer for Halo Infinite and it looked, underwhelming. A few weeks ago we heard that Halo Infinite is being pushed back to 2021 and I think that’s for the better.

Last week, twitter user @Hoolopee recreated the trailer in the style of Super Mario 64. Now, I don’t want to say that it’s better, but the retorness of it makes it enjoyable. Would I play this, probably as a novelty for a day or two, but I don’t think I would go as crazy all out for achievements as I currently do with Halo as it exists now.

It’s still pretty ace looking if I were to say so myself. But it also shows just how far technology has progressed since the mid 1990s.

It’s not The 90s Anymore

But here’s a cut of a bunch of different scenes from famous TV shows and movies where someone tells someone else what decade it is and to get with the times.

It’s interesting to see how many references you can get, and then how many you actually remember watching. Either live when it happened, or in re-runs/re-watches. There’s quite a few, including the 2nd worst Die Hard.

Halo: Infinite

It’s been a long time coming, but we finially have some concrete video for Halo: Infinite – AKA, Halo 6. It looks…good:

I gotta say, the gameplay itself looks like a cross between Halo 5 and something else. What that something else is, I’m not sure. It looks fast paced and very much like H5. I was never a fan of sprint, or clamber and they’re both there, but that’s not the end of the world. The grappling hook is neat, I hope it doesn’t turn into something stupid though.

All in all, I’m excited for it. I will buy it of course, but will I play it again, or will I 100% it and then uninstall it to go back to the good ol’days? That remains to be seen.

Here’s the official trailer:

Obi-Wan Remembers

I have never seen this fan-cut before, but it is 100% worth the watch. It’s amazing how much emotion went into some scenes with 0 backstory, but then again, that’s acting for you.

Bohemian Coaster

I love me Rollercoaster Tycoon. It’s next there with Halo as the game I’ve sunk more hours of my life into (and I’ve sunk months of time into Halo). That being said, with the exception of the stupid object limit, I’ve perfered the original unaltered version of the game over the Open RCT alternative where you can add all sorts of weird things such as the switches and track merging things in this coaster.

Anyway, those things make this coaster pretty awesome. There’s no way it’s realistic, look at some of the G-Forces it’s pulling in the curves when the music starts up. Still, pretty ace if you ask me.

I didn’t realize it until almost the end, but the coaster even travels over a virtual set of piano keys. Very detailed work on this masterpiece, very detailed indeed.

Super Fast Plane

For real though, how can you even control something going to fast? Like, I get it when you’re watching it form the first person point of view, and you have something giant, and you’re a few hundred or thousand feet above the ground. But a little R/C plane. Damn, some people are just skilled.

How Much Corn is In a Can

It turns out, esteemed scientist and YouTube Star CuriosityBeyond determined there are roughly 1.5 cobs of corn in a can of corn. It’s hard to say how big the can is, but it looks like a normal can you would make for a summer BBQ. I’m not sure about his cooking methods, but that’s not my microwave, I have no ability to judge.

You should keep this in mind while you cook your first corn on the cob this weekend. Save those cobs, then buy a bunch of cans of corn for 4th of July and use this method. It’s certified faster because there’s no shucking involved. There’s no messy strings on the corn, and it cooks faster too!

The Tallest Waterslide

This is a nice 10 minute video going over the history of the development of the world’s largest waterslide. You should know, it didn’t really work out that great from the beginning. Think those terrible Roller Coaster Tycoon slides you’d make where everyone died. Yea, those.

That’s right, it’s worse than the one at Action Park. You remember that one, the one with the loop. Remember that, something worst than Action Park was allowed to be built and people to ride it. That’s crazy.

Well, it’s summer time now, be prepared for a whole new season of crazy.

The Life Straw

It seems like everyone has one of these. Or at least anyone who did any hiking or other outdoor activities. I have one, I never used it. But I trusted the sale and bought one anyway. Well, being stuck inside has got people doing all sorts of crazy things with their time.

Have you wondered if a life straw works? Wonder no more, a decent test to show that if you really needed one it would actually work.
