K’NEX Ball Machine

Ball Machines are fun.  This one is insane.

You might remember this guy from his ace Skee Ball machine. Well, that was not his first adventure into crazy K’Nex contraptions.  No, he made this 28,000 piece Ball machine that has 6 different paths to the bottom.

Again, he spent over a year building this monster, and again, it’s more of a display of awesome engineering then an actual toy.  My only question for him is “Do you have them both made at the same time?  Or do you make something, play with it for awhile, then dismantle it to start the next project?”

Again, here’s a video of it in action:

Ebay and the feedback tango

I like most people use eBay from time to time when I’m searching for something bizarre or something I just want for dirt cheap, and of course I almost always find it on eBay! Which obviously is a good thing.  When I buy something on eBay I immediately pay for the item! I know it’s a novel idea but what can I say.  Why on Earth would you buy something on eBay and then wait some random amount of time to pay is completely beyond me.  But anyways that’s not my main problem with eBay.

My main problem is I always seem to get into a feedback tango with the seller, no one ever wants to be the first person to leave feedback.   If you are the seller you should leave me feedback IMMEDIATELY after I pay you, no if ands or buts.  I bought you item, and then paid you (in my case immediately) there is nothing else you need to know about me, my job as a buyer is now complete.  I for filled my end of the agreement to the letter, why would you not give me feedback? Oh you’re afraid I will leave you bad feedback? Well if you did your job, posted and accurate description of the item and mail it out in a timely fashion then you have nothing to worry about.  If you however were dishonest in anyway then you DESERVE negative feedback!  So suck it up and deal with it or be honest next time!  As a buyer you should also leave feedback in a timely fashion, as soon as you get your package open it and make sure the item matches the description on the page, if so leave feedback! If the item does not match take a picture, and contact the seller showing him/her your picture and explain your concerns, no one wants negative feedback so I’m sure they will work with you.  There is no reason to wait any more than a day or two before you leave feedback!  And if you happen to break the item due to your ignorance (you used it wrong, you don’t know how to use it, you don’t know what the hell your doing, your dropped it, etc) that does not mean it’s the sellers fault suck it up and acknowledge your mistake! Don’t leave them negative feedback because you are a moron.

This seems like such an easy concept to me yet very many people seem to get it wrong!  Seller leaves feedback as soon as you’re paid; buyer leave feedback as soon as you get your item.  It’s a real simple process that works great when everyone cooperates.

Blog, Server, and such

So yeah, sorry to everyone for the recent problems with the blog/server, It has been my fault. I have been moving parts around between my computers and it should finally be done. My new monster of a computer is finally complete with liquid cooling, a new Core2Duo processor, 2 Gigs of RAM, and SLI. So you will not see any more adverse effects…. Hopefully…

Mike got a new Projector

So I’m reading the blog today and I see eb’s monitor, and I realize “shit I forgot to post about my projector”. So here it is…
I got a dell 2400MP projector weighing in at about 5.5 pounds next day shipping was only $20 :-d so I got it really soon.  Like eb I took many pictures of the unpacking like done on  THE OPENING!

Ok so after opening all up, I go and set it up and such, hook up my new xbox 360 to it and set it on 1080i and saw this:(note the first picture is with a flash on, that was an accident but I left it cause I thought it was amusing how well you could still see the picture even with a flash)

(please excuse any blurryness on the screen I was being very lazy on my bed when I took the pictures, the screen is crystal clear)

Ok so my concution is: WOW, the image is absolutly orgasmic! I can still see the screen crystal clear in full daylight and room light.  It is like I have an HDTV hanging on my wall, I have the same image quality, and color on my 21″ LCD monitor.  The only downside I see is the image could be larger, however I can just move my projector back to fix that. All in all I am extreamly please.  Don’t tell eb this he might get sad but I now have something that has the same quality as his 24″ monitor but the picture is 10 times the size, I’ll have to fire up Far Cry to get a comparison picture.

PC Games on a MAC with BootCamp

Ok so I was going to wait for steve to post this but I didn’t want to wait around for him to get out of his boring class.  Anyways, I walk into my Game Design class today, and my Teacher who is a MAC user tells us how the new Intel Mac’s can play PC games just as well as PC’s can.  I of course laughed at him, and then he goes and refers us to where there is apparently some review up about playing games.  I’ll let you read it for yourself.  I first of find it amusing how they don’t even use graphics intensive games to run their tests, seriously now, my friends 3 year old laptop with standard onboard graphics can play Half Life 2 without any problems, but oh well.  It’s kinda funny how MAC can’t get companies to make games for their computers so they have to go and put windows on their hardware in order for people to play.  And another thing, what’s the point of having a MAC anymore if all your going to do is boot it up into Windows to have all your fun? But anyways go read it for yourself and please come back and tell me what you think 🙂

Check out 1up’s Review

Ok so I wanna test out a theory here about Intel and dell. Intel is all cool and processor like and dell is all computer ish, but intel is intell and by nature cooler then dell but dell is also better then intel because without a dell like place intel stuff would be useless.

Broken Tablet

Yeah so today I broke my wonderful tablet 🙁 it made me very very very sad.  I set it down on a printer and the next thing I know it’s on the floor.  It fell off the 4 foot tall printer and landed on the corner.  Somehow breaking a sizable piece of the titanium reinforced carbon fiber case off. So of course I go and call IBM and tell them to fix it, and they then try and tell me that I don’t have a warranty that covers such damages, and of course I bitched a lot, and now I’m getting a call back by some important person tomorrow 🙂

Deadly Computer DIY

This is the result of an ongoing effort to create “BUZZ” about UNEASYsilence.

Connected to the post here. After some time, we found a “useful” use for the 200 feet or so of cable we found the other day. We spelled out on the bridge for all the school to see. Hopefully this will create som “BUZZ”

In case you forgot the site: UNEASYsilence

So yeah, steve knows all about this place, but apparently its better then I thought, I just figured that it was another run of the mill technology blog, but as it turns out its a little more then that.  They have all sorts of interesting things that arnt in many other spots.  Not to mention that it’s updated throughout the day not just once a day.  I highly recommend adding this site to you feed reader!
Or if you just wanna visit the site.
