A New House

New year, new goals. Have this tree house! Or not. While it’s pretty neat looking, it looks quite exposed to, well everything. It’s also way over reliant on technology, and requires a crane to be installed. Plus, it sticks out like a sore thumb on the skyline, you’re easy pickings for the robots to attack. No thank you, I’ll take my underground bunker instead.

Full Metal Arrow

Or something like that anyway. I greatly dislike the reddit video system that doesn’t allow you to embed just the video, instead you need to embed the whole post. I guess that’s what they’re aiming for, but it’s still annoying.
Anyway, look at these two idiots, they aren’t really going to get the round to explode, but at least they know what’s happening, and that it’s dangerous. That’s a step better than most idiots.

Goldeneye The way it was meant to be seen

For anyone who grew up with a Nintendo 64, GoldenEye 007 was the game to have.  The story behind it is pretty crazy, but I won’t get into copying it’s Wikipedia entry.  The below video takes some of the famous scenes from the video game which also happened in the movie (for a movie adaption, it was pretty good).  However, all the sound effects and music come from the video game version.  That’s right, the ridiculous slaps, gun noises, cries, everything.  It’s all from the video game.  It’s quite hilarious to be honest.

This time of year, you have to remember the good old days, before there were achievements, when you and your siblings were just trying to see how many Russians you could kill with the rocket launcher and infinite ammo before you got bored of the level.  When you turned on DK mode (easily the best hidden cheat since the Konami code) and pile up the hats of the dead Russians as you killed them.  Ah, what times…

360 Photo IRL

While the above is apparently a painting, it’s still amazingly ace.  I like to take 360 photos and videos, and they are basically limited to the realm of the internetz and computer.  Thanks to the amazing people on that reddit thread, I am able to shell out hundreds of dollars for one of my own actual photos on a sphere though.  I could use Scandy Sphere and spend $500 on one, or Snapsphere which is at least $150, but I can’t seem to find pricing on a custom one.  Lastly there’s the DIY route with this video you can follow.  What is very clearly missing however is the ability to print out your sphere on paper like that.  The linked site is all in Japanese, I have no idea if you can order something or not.  Oh well, it seems like I’ll be regulated to viewing them all on my computer for the time being.

Pearl Harbor

December 7th, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

Pearl Harbor

The world changed that day.  Mostly for the better but everyone now-a-days is up in arms about what could have and should have been.  Today is not the day to talk about could haves, it’s a day to remember the loss of life and the way our nation, and the world’s life changed forever.  The Attack on Pearl Harbor changed things, but it set about a series of events that led to today.  And today you an I are reading this blog, and watching other world events happening in front of our eyes.  Had things been different who knows what would have happened, but today is a day of Infamy.

Miniature Bridge

Remember that miniature concrete building that some guy made?  Here’s a bridge version of it.  It looks slightly better, except the on and off ramp look way too steep for the scale.  I gotta admit, the whole thing of building real life miniatures is pretty cool, but it’s pretty strange too.  Like I get it if you’re using it to demonstrate something, but to do it for fun?  I don’t need a scale model bridge.
