Cut a Camera in Half

Thanks to the Hydraulic Press Channel, People with access to high power dangerous equipment have an entirely new revenue stream thanks to YouTube videos.  That’s just the premise of the WaterJet Channel, they have a high power water jet that they use to cut things in half.

Just like the HPC, they seem to know a lot about their piece of equipment, but not a lot about what they’re cutting.  However, unlike the HPC, they don’t have that sick accent.

Watch them cut apart an old DSLR, look at all the empty space in it.

Niagara Falls

I don’t have all of my photos yet, Chicago => New York is a very long drive, especially alone. So instead, you can view this one from Instagram from last week. Enjoy.

Make a Coil Train

No doubt about it, electric trains are cool.  They are expensive though.  And you could get called “a nerd.”  But really, those people are just not cool, so there.

Follow the simple 4 step instructable to make “The Simpliest Electric Train“.  Now, watch the video of it in action.  It’s quite cool.  Except the jumps, that part sucks, don’t build this expecting to get some sick jumps.  You’ll be dissapointed.

If your kid, or brother, or friend wants a Train for Christmas.  A. Get them one, (if they’ve been a good child that is). B) If they like trains, then they’re probably interested in science.  Why not spend $20 and make this with them.  It will be cool and get them interested in science.

This isn’t Necessary

Marketing people never stop amazing you do they.  The those from Coca-Cola Israel released a short lived marketing gimmick camera that attaches to the bottom of a standard Coca-Cola bottle.  It takes a photo whenever it detects a change in tilt of at least 70°.  That photo is a selfie.  It’s interesting, but as I said, unnecessary.

Alternate History Thursday: Blackness

Common American folklore states that Thanksgiving was when the Indians helped the pilgrims from the Mayflower survive the winter.  This is mostly true, however, the real history can be traced back to the colonists from Roanoke.  They are the reason why this feast is celebrated, though not for what you would think.  Read on, for a gripping conclusion to last month’s AHT!

Dishwasher Cooking

Did you know you could use your dishwasher to cook a lasagna?  I didn’t.  In fact, I had never even heard of this myth, but someone sent it into the Mythbusters.  And while shooting another episode, they decided to test this myth at the same time.  Spoiler, you can.

Cuyahoga Valley NP

Cuyahoga Valley National Park is located right outside of Cleveland Ohio, and unlike Niagara Falls, is actually directly on the way to Chicago.  So I’m totally going to being stopping there as I make my way across the nation for Thanksgiving.

It’s sorta like Vacation, except, it’s not going to be as crazy, or dangerous, or deadly.  Also, I’m not going to film it.  Enjoy.
