eb Got A New Monitor!

It’s pretty and big! It’s a Dell Ultrasharp 2405 24″ Widescreen and in the shoes of, I have documented the opening and setup of this glorious new monitor.

That last picture is totally just for steve, so he could see an 800×600 image stretched out over 24 inches. And the image before that is FarCry at max settings. I wish I could actually play the game at those settings instead of just looking around….very slowly but wow that looks pretty.

See the rest here!

(someone tell me if the images get all misplaced due to resolution issues…I tend to ignore the feelings of lower resolution screens…)

google internet

Google regestered the domain recently, and, there is spectulation that google may launch a pay-pal esque system soon.

I disagree.  This is like when it was discovered that google registered the domain and for weeks people thought that google would release a browser any day, and, we have yet to see that g-browser.  I think this is just a red haring.

Google may eventually get into the online payment thing, but, i dont think it will be tomorrow, or even next month, it will be awhile before they go there.  I mean, Google will take over the world one day soon, they have 5 years to do it, and its clear they will be taking over the world.

But that’s just my view on it, whats you view?

DeLorean for Sale!

Oh man. Every so often steve and I look at eBay to see if there are any DeLoreans for sale. One time we found one for $8000, but we’re poor. This one is a little bit more expensive…

But look at it! It’s beautiful. Two bad things: as of right now its $45,300 and the reserve hasn’t even been met yet. And it doesn’t have the Mr. Fusion…it still has the plain old boring plutonium reactor core…

This guy did a good job mocking the H2, and, i have to agree with him, the H2 is a horrible car that should have never been made. But thats another story.

Here are 7 modified Hummer ads, my favorites being the one above, and the 2 after the click.

LEDs from Christmas Lights

Red-tag Joe has a nice DIY project on hacking a Christmas Light String into usable indicidual  LEDs.   Reasons for doing this:

A. Its cheaper.  ($25.00 for a string of 70 blue!)

B. Its fun. (come on, DIY everyone loves it!)

5 uses for old TVs

Hacked Gadgets has 5 uses for old TVs:

1. Plasma Globe

2. Tesla Coil

3. Scope/Audio Fun

4. Jacob’s Ladder

5. Computer

The computer is more of a case mod, the Tesla Coil is something i want to make one day, the Scope/Audio fun is cool, but i dont understand it, Jacob’s Ladder and the Plasma Globe are probably the 2 coolest i think.

Lego Rubik’s Cube

Very cool, but if i were given this, i would just put my own Legos to the sides, and make it solved!

Gulliver Park

This is Gulliver Park in Valencia, Spain. The figure you see is an enormous fibreglass model of Lemuel Gulliver trapped by the Lilliputians, and the ropes that tie him to the ground form part of a children’s adventure playground. Children can slide down his jacket, climb up the ropes on his arms, visit the city of Liliput inside him, and do a number of other activities spread out all over the figure.

That sounds quite interesting actually.

F**k you Microsoft!

This morning i got this email in my inbox concerning the free USB memory stick that Microsoft was giving away a few months ago:

Thank you for your interest in the Mystery Solved Windows® licensing promotion. We’ve received your request for more information to help clarify Microsoft® Windows Desktop Licensing pre-loaded on the USB drive. Unfortunately, this Mystery Solved promotion was available in the U.S. only and while supplies last. Supply is depleted at this time, so we encourage you to please utilize the online alternative today.

Simply download* the Windows Desktop Licensing reference files directly at:

To help simplify Windows Desktop Licensing, keep these points in mind:

There are two legal ways to acquire a full Windows Desktop license: through your hardware vendor (OEM/System Builder) or Full Packaged Product.
Volume licensing covers Windows Desktop operating system upgrades only.
OEM operating system licenses live and die with each PC–they are not transferable.

Again, thank you for your interest in Mystery Solved and for helping us spread the word about proper Windows licensing.
