You don’t need to watch all 30 minutes of this video. Some parts are well cut while others are static views of control screens. It is an interesting look at how saw mills are set up to operate. I’m particularly fond of the giant mills used to cut the giant tree trunks. Pretty impressive.
I never saw the first one, but this looks good. I’m pretty amazed at some of the footage they were able to capture. Either they had drones, or super high resolution cameras and then cropped it in very far. It looks like a good couple of hours to waste when it premiers sometime this year … Continued
25,000 individual images shot over a year make up this beautiful time-lapse of coral moving in a way that humans couldn’t see normally. Part of this project is to bring to light the plight that the Great Barrier Reef is undergoing due to changing climates and industrialization of the world. It’s pretty spectacular solely because … Continued
It’s Tornado Season. Or it was, or it will be. I’m never quite sure when Tornado Season actually is. I just know that when it starts, it offers some pretty awesome videos, photos, and time-lapses of the storms as the make their way across the MidWest. This year though is different. I may or may not be in Katmai National Park right now. The physical location I will be in will be determined this week, and I have no way of really updating you as it’s a pain to do anything on my phone. So be content and just watch this live feed of Bears feeding … Continued
I’m sure you’ve seen wood veneer before. It’s hard to miss it in modern life. Did you know how it was made though? Yes, some of them are crappy print jobs by computers, but the real stuff, that’s shaved off of trees on giant planers and razors. It’s pretty cool. Now, the tree there, that’s … Continued
I can’t help but think of Rat Race, sure there’s no betting going on here, and no one knows for sure where the treasure is, but there’s still an excitation millionaire’s ploy to put the common person on a field day. This is a literal treasure chest, gold coins, gold bars, gold nuggets, diamonds, sapphires, rubies, … Continued
I took my 360° camera out for a hike yesterday. The weather was nice, but it was very, very windy, so the audio wasn’t great except for wind noise.
This 4K Time-lapse called Patience is beautiful. I’ve made a few time-lapses before, but they were only night-sky ones so they didn’t involve too much editing, or camera movement, or any of the HDR that the above shows. I appreciate the effort that goes into making one, especially with all the music lined up perfectly … Continued
