Infrared Timelapse

0

I do love some Infrared photography.  There’s something awesome and other-worldly about it that is so enticing.  This time-lapse of Oregon is done completely in infrared.  I will say, some of the shots are pretty lost.  The nightscapes, and the meh mountainsides, those just look like filtered B&W.  There are a few nice sections of … Continued

Interactive Wooden Landscape

This is pretty neat, ETM: Exploration Through Motion is an interesting view of a once static asset.  A team of students from the Philadelphia University created this as their final project in Design 1.  Together, they took the Thomas Moran painting “Grand Canyon of the Colorado River”, and made a 3D laser cut map diorama … Continued

Glory Hole In Action

0

Remember that post years and years ago about The Glory Hole.  Yea, well, here it is in action.  All the rains that California has experienced in the last few months have filled up the Dam and the spillway is in full force.  Unlike the Oroville Dam, this one in Lake Berryessa is well within guidelines. … Continued

Wood Cutting

You don’t need to watch all 30 minutes of this video.  Some parts are well cut while others are static views of control screens.  It is an interesting look at how saw mills are set up to operate.  I’m particularly fond of the giant mills used to cut the giant tree trunks.  Pretty impressive.

Planet Earth II

I never saw the first one, but this looks good.  I’m pretty amazed at some of the footage they were able to capture.  Either they had drones, or super high resolution cameras and then cropped it in very far.  It looks like a good couple of hours to waste when it premiers sometime this year … Continued

Colorful Coral: Time-Lapse

25,000 individual images shot over a year make up this beautiful time-lapse of coral moving in a way that humans couldn’t see normally.  Part of this project is to bring to light the plight that the Great Barrier Reef is undergoing due to changing climates and industrialization of the world. It’s pretty spectacular solely because … Continued

360 Tornado Footage

It’s Tornado Season.  Or it was, or it will be.  I’m never quite sure when Tornado Season actually is.  I just know that when it starts, it offers some pretty awesome videos, photos, and time-lapses of the storms as the make their way across the MidWest.  This year though is different.  It marks the beginning … Continued

The Tetons in 8K

As the 8th entry into the More Than Just Parks series, Will Pattiz and Jim Pattiz went to Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.  For those of you unfamiliar with this series, they plan to visit all 59 National Parks and produce more of the awesome video footage you see above.  Having been to Grand Teton … Continued

Bears Maul defenseless fish. LIVE!!

I may or may not be in Katmai National Park right now.  The physical location I will be in will be determined this week, and I have no way of really updating you as it’s a pain to do anything on my phone.  So be content and just watch this live feed of Bears feeding … Continued
