This is the result of an ongoing effort to create “BUZZ” about UNEASYsilence.

Connected to the post here. After some time, we found a “useful” use for the 200 feet or so of cable we found the other day. We spelled out UNEASYsilence.com on the bridge for all the school to see. Hopefully this will create som “BUZZ”

In case you forgot the site: UNEASYsilence

iTunes 1 Billion

http://www.apple.com/itunes/1billion/

iTunes is again having a contest to create some “buzz” over theire newest milestone, 1 billion songs downloaded.

As with the last one, small prizes will be given out every 100,000th downloaded, and a grand prize for the 1,000,000,000th.

The small prizes are a 4gb black iPod  nano with $100 gift card to iTunes Music Store.  The grand prize is a 20inch iMac (wonder if its a new intel one?), 10 60gb iPod videos, and a $10,000 gift card to iTunes Music Store.  In addition to those, the grand prize winner will have a Full Ride scholarship made by Apple at a major music school for the future generations of musicans.

So, get downloading, tell me when it gets to 99,990,000 ok,  i want to get some of these things.

Movie quiz

1

Test your knowledge of movies with the fun movie quiz

It gives you a single screen for 30 different movies, your task, to find out what movie it’s from.

Sounds easy, well, they go from 1970s-2005, and not all are mainstream.  I mananged to get 11 by myself, and 1 more with the help of my roommate.

French military victories…broken?

2

Could it be? The oldest trick in the book, the most widely known spoof, no longer works?

Typing: “French military victories” into Google, then pressing I’m Feeling Lucky brought you to a Google Error page: “Did you mean: French military defeats

Instead of bringing you to that error page, it now loads a mirror of that page, hosted on Albino Black Sheep. It looks like someone made a page, and got it to become the number one result, and be brought straight there. That’s kind of sad.

I remember when I first was told about it, it worked, and it’s worked forever, I think Google should change it back, if only so that the rest of the world can have the amusement that we’ve had.

cat-5 cable

3

Yesterday we found lots cat-5 cable in, of all places, a dumpster.

Having a history associated with dumpsters, we were cautious at first, but, we gave into temptation in the end, and took as much as we could get, (it was all tangled).  By my estimates, we took about 204 feet.

nuclear plant

0

So, today we went on a field trip to a nuclear power plant.  It was a pretty amazing trip.

We had to go through security, and take our (my) shoes off, then we went to lunch.  After lunch we had to choose which super power we wanted to be irradiated into us, I choose the ability to fly, (not easy to do I was told, but it works!).

We then saw the turbine, and before that we saw the place where they clean the grates of all the seaweed that gest sucked in from the ocean.

It was a pretty cool trip, I’d go again, hopefully.
