Trackstick: Vacationer’s Dream

The Trackstick, I don’t know if this is a great invention that will usher in a new error of travel, or a horrible invention that will push us into a paranoid frenzy.
Either way, its damn cool!
It uses a small GPS unit powered by 2 AAA batteries to track progress for up to a week. Then use the USB 2.0 connector, and Google Earth, and it will map out the entire trip it’s been on.
Bundle this with a camera that takes pictures every 2 minutes, and take a cross country trip and it could make for a very interesting thing.
However, the most creepy thing comes from it’s size, and, ironically, they mention it on their site:
With the detachable belt clip, Trackstick IITM can be carried on a belt, in a bag or purse, or covertly installed and placed on anything that moves.
I’m sorry, but the paranoid person in me is just screaming for all the things wrong with that. Not just for the stalker people, but the government, granted, the government has way more sophisticated equipment then that, but still, it’s scary.
They’re available through order from the website, or at a dealer near you apparently, no pricing that I could find. Looks pretty awesome if I do say so myself though.
