Google Changes PageRank…so what

Google recently changed the algorithms they use to figure out the PageRank of websites. Ok. Does that matter? No, but an insane number of bloggers seem to think it matters a lot. Hell, to a few of them it’s the end of the world as we know it, because now their blog is merely a PageRank of 4 instead 5, and that means they will only get 5 referrals from Google per day instead of 6, and that in turn will lead to advertisers pulling their ads off of websites left and right, which will lead to less/no money being made/spent, and which will result in the collapse of the internet…
Well, I have news for you. NO ONE FUCKING CARES. Stop bitching and moaning about Google’s change to how they do PageRank. I don’t want to read it anymore.
If you really think that bitching on your blog, and then submitting it to StumbleUpon so that it gets seen by a few thousand people who may agree, may not, but will probably give it a Thumb Up anyway and in turn repeat the cycle, I have a request for you, STOP. Every time I stumble to any SEO blog bitching about Google’s change to PageRank I skim it over, and then give it a Thumbs Down.
I don’t know if you know this or not, but Google is it’s own company (sure it’s a public (which I do own) company, but Sergey Brin, and Larry Page still essiently control all aspects of it anyway), and PageRank is a closed system. That means that Google can pretty much do whatever the fuck they want with it and then laugh in your face when you go cry to mommy that your page went down from 5 to 4.
I also have some more news for you, and this will probably shock alot of you, people don’t use Google to look for blogs to add to their feed readers. People find blogs through other blogs, and, to a greater extent (for me, and my friends anyway) through StumbleUpon.
Never have I once thought “I want to read some blogs about Rocket Ships” and searched Google for “Rocket Ship Blogs” and subscribed to the RSS of first few that show up. Not only do the first 3 links have nothing at all to do with Rocket Ships, but it’s just not practical.
If Google kept PageRank the same forever, then very soon the web would be overcome with porn, free offers for Viagra, and pyramid schemes to get a free iPhone. By changing PageRank Google is assuring that the web will continue to be filled with quality content.
Now before you all start bitching to me about how I don’t care about it cause my PageRank sucks. Well, I do care about my PageRank, and I get a little burst of pride when I find out my PR is a little better then some other sites, but I don’t get jealous when it’s worse, which is pretty much what every one of you complaining is showing, jealousy, grow up bloggers, grow up…

well I heard the change in Page Ranking algo was just a rumour..
Thank you!
Google who?
stop bitching about how other people are bitching. it doesn’t make you any better.
no, it doesnt, but, it sends a message out there for other people to stop, at least, that was my hope
