I stubmled accross this and it’s interesting.  What if the Earth was not shaped like the oblong sphere it is, but rather a pyramid, or Toroidal (donut) shape?
lots more pictures over at nrich.  I really want to know the answers to the questions at the bottom, maybe someone can help me out.

This bridge in London is awesome.  It rolls up into a ball to allow water traffic to pass under it, instead of raising up vertically.
From the looks of it, it looks like a foot bridge, i would love to see this on a larger scale, for like cars…

For those of you unaware of this book, first of all read it. Now. Secondly, I have to say this was probably the best book I had to read for school ever. Plus it got me into the follow-up books which are even more amazing.

Is this not the pinical of awesomeness? Its a Lego themed sofa, complete with movable parts!  The only question i have is, how comfortable is it?  Because those who use LEGOs, know that they aren’t the nicest things to sit/stand/fall/lay on.

This is one seriously cool building.  It’s got four different buildings, all suspended from a central core.  It serves two purposes, giving the entire building a smaller footprint, and, more importantly, making it look freking AWESOME.

Now, i don’t suggest this as an alternative to a faraday cage, but rather an addition to. It’s paint that’s supposed to not allow wireless signals, and other RF signals to transfer through it.  Personally, i have no idea how it works, and am skeptical, but it could prove nice if it were used correctly [...]

This started as a simple DIY project, but soon escalated out of control, luckily this isn’t a true robot, in that it is still controlled by humans.  But the design is out there, now they only need to be built, and soon enough we as a species will no longer exist…
